AEO for law firms — accurate, citable, within the rules

Clients and in-house counsel now ask AI assistants “which firm handles cross-border M&A in India?” or “how does a foreign company set up a JV in India?” before they call anyone. We help your firm’s expertise show up accurately in those answers — through factual firm information and citable guides, not advertising.

Why it matters

  • Legal research increasingly starts with an AI assistant — and assistants cite firms whose guides answer questions directly, with current law and dates.
  • Advertising and solicitation rules for lawyers are strict — in India under the Bar Council of India’s rules, and under professional conduct rules elsewhere. Factual firm information and educational content are where AEO works; we keep to your rules and your partners approve everything.
  • In our AI visibility index, Indian law firms scored 6.2 out of 10 on average for AI readiness — most lose points on structured data, crawler access or pages that don’t answer questions directly.

Questions your buyers are asking AI assistants

We test questions like these across ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, Perplexity and Copilot — and track who gets named:

  • “Which law firm in India handles inbound M&A for Japanese companies?”
  • “How does a foreign company set up a joint venture in India?”
  • “Who advises on FEMA compounding / FDI approvals?”
  • “What does India’s new [law] mean for foreign investors?”

What we do

  • Audit: what assistants say today, and why — see the AEO audit.
  • Entity & trust: one consistent description, structured data, profiles that agree with each other.
  • Answer-first pages for each service, market and buyer question — accurate, sourced and dated.
  • Access & speed: AI crawler access, llms.txt, Bing and Google webmaster setup, fast indexing.
  • Monthly testing of your buyers’ questions, with a short report.

Built for practice areas, not slogans

  • Practice-area pages that state plainly what the firm does, for whom and in which forums — the facts assistants need to describe you correctly.
  • Citable explainers on new laws and regulator updates, dated and sourced to the statute or circular.
  • People and entity data: consistent descriptions of partners, offices and practice areas across the site and profiles, with structured data.
  • Referral partners: we work alongside foreign investors on due diligence, JVs and India entry — we understand the questions your clients ask.

Frequently asked questions

Is AEO allowed for law firms in India?
The Bar Council of India's rules restrict advertising and solicitation by advocates, but factual information about a firm and educational legal content are commonly published within those limits. Any AEO work should stay within the current rules, with partner approval of all content.
How do AI assistants decide which law firms to mention?
Search-connected assistants draw on pages that answer the question directly and on consistent information about the firm across its website and trusted profiles. Clear practice-area pages, dated legal explainers and structured data make a firm easier to cite accurately.
Can you do AEO for foreign law firms advising on India?
Yes. We work with firms outside India that advise clients on Indian transactions, subject to their own professional conduct rules on communications.
