- Head offices want precise, documented findings.
Your home-country rules — and what they mean for an Indian partner
- Japan’s Unfair Competition Prevention Act: amendments effective 1 April 2024 raised penalties for bribing foreign officials, broadened corporate liability and extended reach to non-Japanese staff of Japanese companies; METI updated its prevention guidelines in February 2024. Due diligence on Indian agents and partners is a core preventive step.
- Japanese parents with Indian subsidiaries also need clean subsidiary compliance and transfer pricing.
The India side
